I've been critical of gangsta rap before, and Ice Cube's work in particular hasn't connected with me. I'm not connecting with the worldview, I'm not connecting with the sound, I'm not connecting with the violence, and those are all things this album doubles down on. I get that the genre is important, but it's clearly not for me.
