The seven hundred and fifteenth album: #715 Rage Against the Machine - Rage Against the Machine
As I think I've made clear in previous entries on this blog, musically I'm a kid of the early-mid nineties rock sound, with Rage Against the Machine being one of the bands that stands out as something I've formed my tastes and mind around - the pseudo-anarchic, left wing lyrics hits me as hard as the music does, while both vocally and musically it avoids the heavy sounds that metal albums bring in. The funk elements help, while the lyrics get to stand on their own to put their message out there. It's a striking debut album, fearless in a way, and it's what I keep a soft spot for.
