The two hundred and fiftieth TV show: #112 Raumpatrouille Orion
Sometimes an idea hits the public imagination and clearly spreads beyond just a single show. Star Trek launched 8 September 1966 and nine days later German television started this, its own show of exploring space, dealing with extraterrestrial threats and the spatial phenomenons. And I think this might be better. The characters are more complex, with the crew feeling less like stereotypes than the American counterpart had. Its take on the look and feel of the era feels stranger, the underwater bases that feature feeling incredibly impressive, and the dancing that occurs are definitely different from what we got. It's a shame the show went beyond the budget and what the show was capable off, because while it drags in some episodes that could have done with being shortened, there's something more approachable and real about it that at the same time embraces what it can do as a sci-fi show.
