The six hundred and eighty-sixth album: #686 Nirvana - Nevermind
Smells Like Teen Spirit defines this album, defining what feels like a subculture for a generation, including one I mixed with, and the other tracks fit in with that same feeling. They're not always as loud as the first track, and certainly not as catchy, but it gives a lot of thoughts to the lyrics and the feelings the music wants to portray. It's a strong portrayal of disillusionment that feels universal, even if the music is also of its time.
